Description

A mountain village in the province of Trento, Mezzana is located in the center of Val di Sole, in a natural setting of the past, rich in vegetation and lush forests, framed by the mountains of the Brenta Dolomites, the Ortler and Adamello-Presanella -Alps. It is a place greatly enjoyed and used all year round, thanks to the enormous variety of tourism: in summer, for example, you can take advantage of the numerous mountain trails for hiking in the surrounding areas of the gym or international canoe slalom moments of pure adrenaline. In winter, snow lovers will have fun along the slopes of Folgarida-Marilleva and Madonna di Campiglio.
Although the origin of the name (derived from the predial "Mettius"), the discovery of some archaeological finds confirm that the area was certainly inhabited in Roman times and the territory of Mezzana was characterized by settlements already Rhaetian age, as evidenced by remains of a castle of the period. In the Middle Ages it was the seat of the tenth for some of the most famous and powerful families Trentino: the Cles and Thunn.

Attractions:
- the Church of Saints Peter and Paul, built between the XV and XVI centuries by the comacine craftsmen, replacing the existing medieval building. Inside there are two fine wooden statues of invoice late Gothic, four XVII century wooden altars, a XIX century painting of the artist Antonio Ridolfi and frescoes dating back to the early XX century, pre-Raphaelite style.
- the branch of Our Lady of Caravaggio, in Baroque style, with wooden altars and XVIII century paintings;
- Casa Maturi, a typical palatial house with a garden, in which lived Mature Archbishop, Primate of the Aegean;
- the XVI century Church of the village of Roncio, recently restored;
- the Church of St. Christopher (XVI century) in Ortisè;
- the Church of San Rocco (XV century) in Menas;
- the typical buildings of the Solandra traditions, with native stone walls, up to the first floor, and a wooden structure on the higher one.
