Bedollo di Pinè

Description

Bedollo di Pinè is a picturesque village in the province of Trento, set in the northernmost part of the Pinè plateau, surrounded by pine forests and characterized by a stunning view of the Dolomites. The economy is based on the cultivation of small mountain fruits. There are here two lakes (Buse lake and Piazza lake) where it is possible to practice water sports, as well as skiing and excursions on foot, by horse and mountain bike.
According to some, the place name probably derives from "betulla" (birch).
The discovery of the remains of an ancient foundry, dating back to the Bronze Age, testify that the area was inhabited since Prehistoric times.
We suggest to visit the Church of Sant'Osvaldo, consecrated in 1546 and renovated during the first years of the XVIII century; the original building dates back to the XIII century, coinciding with the immigration of German people in this area. It is flanked by a belltower with its characteristic onion dome.
