Latium Spa and Health Resorts

Description

The healing properties of Latium's thermal waters were already known to Etruscans and Romans. Regarding the Etruscan era, the archaeological documentation of thermal plants is very small, meanwhile the Roman relics are really conspicuous.
These are the main Latium's thermal sites, with the characteristics of their waters:

- Canale Monterano (RM): mineral sulphureous-sulphateous-alkaline waters , that stream with a temperature of 38/58°C;
- Castelforte-Suio (LT): sulphureous-bicarbonate-calcic-alkaline waters, that strem with a temperature of 20/58°C;
- Castel Sant'Angelo (RI): carbonate-sulphateous-alkaline-sulphureous waters;
- Ferentino (FR): acque sulphureous-bicarbonate-calcic cold waters (16-18°C);
- Fiuggi (FR): oligomineral waters;
- Palestrina (RM): oligomineral waters:
- Rieti: bicarbonate-alkaline waters;
- Tivoli (RM): sulphureous- carbonic waters, that stream with a temperature of 23°C;
- Viterbo: sulphureous-sulphateous-bicarbonate-alkaline waters, that stream with a temperature of 40/58°C.
