Surrounded by the Antelao and Sorapis massifs and by mount Pelmo, San Vito di Cadore is the most important tourist centre of the Boite valley.
In addition to the naturalistic beauties, ideal place for the lovers of winter sports and mountain bike journeys plunged into an untouched nature, many interesting monumental jewels are in San Vito di Cadore, such as the XVIII century Parish Church, which preserves a splendid altar-piece by Francesco Vecellio, Tiziano's brother, the XVI century small church dedicated to Madonna della Difesa, the little Museum of traditions and the university ecology centre of Padova University.
